Only Known From New Island. (Whitehead, J. (2008) Priorities for Control: A Risk Assessment of Introduced Species on the Falkland Islands. South Atlantic Invasive Species Project );
Invasive. (Horizon scanning for non-native invertebrates in the Falklands (October 2018). Dataset);
The impacts of rabbits on Falklands biodiversity is not well understood but is thought to be negative (SoE, 2007) including some local effects on grazing land (C. Miller, 2007). In other countries, rabbits cause severe damage to the natural environment and agricultural areas including erosion and a decline in native plants and animals. Rabbits are causing extensive damage to the biodiversity and landscape of Macquarie Island (GISD, 2008). Rabbits may compete with Magellanic Penguins in some places, but the interaction has not been studied (Woods and Woods, 2006). (Whitehead, J.
