Horticulture/gardens. (Key, R., Fowler, L., Pryce, D., Wilkins, V., Key, R. (2021). Terrestrial & Freshwater Invertebrates of St Helena. Pisces Publications, Newbury);
Found on a Dahlia flower in the Castle Gardens by Theresa Benjamin; appeared to be starving and was intent on only eating pollen; it is hypothesised that it was a single specimen that came out of a container and made it to the nearest available food source; as it was discovered by biosecurity staff and appears to be a one off occurrence, the species is categorised as having been intercepted; the species has a low risk of establishment on the islands as juveniles require horse manure to develop; it is unknown whether donkey manure is also suitable, but the lack of this material near the wharf should act as a barrier to establishment on the island.(DP) Liza Fowler reports that a second specimen qwas found on Ladder stsps so I have reinstated as it may possibly have established (RSK)
