Native to Pantropical (Europe, introduced). (St Helena Invertebrate Forum (2024) St Helena Species Spreadsheet v12.5. Dataset.); The Scytodes thoracica of Pickard-Cambridge (1873) p. 218 is presumably either this species or velutina; the Ashmoles also record 'Scytodes similis' from the island; this species does not appear to exist.
