Wace (in note on specimen (Wace G 251, 15/5/1968) in K), states that this species occurs on peat besides paths and in other disturbed habitats around the meteorological station at Transvaal Bay, Gough Island. He did not see this species anywhere in the undisturbed surrounding fernbush and tussock vegetation, and considered it likely to be a recent arrival at the Station [2].
